As Rainbow Dracuteers continues to build capacity as a local nonprofit organization, we've begun structuring ourselves in a way to best support our efforts serving the Dracut community. We're happy to announce we officially have an Advisory Board!

Our inaugural board consists of three members: our two co-founders and a new member with a variety of nonprofit experience in the arts & cultural field. We wanted to take a moment to more formally introduce ourselves in our own words:

Patrick C. C. Hulse

him/him/his

I'm Patrick, a co-founder of Rainbow Dracuteers, an IT pro, and a general all-purpose nerd. I’m excited to officially introduce myself as a fellow Advisory Board member. My partner, Kaye, and I spent a great decade chilling in the gorgeous Finger Lakes region of Ithaca, NY before we made the move back to New England in 2023. Unlike Kaye, I’m a newer resident here in Dracut, having instead grown up a bit further north in New Hampshire. As a newcomer, seeing the current challenges here in Dracut has been a fast education. It just felt like time to actually do something. I’m here to contribute to the amazing work already being done and support the people already here who are looking to build an accepting and supportive community in the region.

Emma Sue Harris

they/them/theirs

Hi! I’m Emma and I’m thrilled to have been invited to be part of the Rainbow Dracuteers Advisory Board. Originally from South Florida, I am a new but proud Dracuteer! A bit about me: I am a theatre professional. More specifically, I am an actor and a dramaturg who wears a lot of different hats! Currently, I am a company member and an archivist for The Living Theatre, which is the longest running experimental theatre company in the United States.

As a dramaturg, I have specialized in the development of original plays/musicals with sociopolitical themes, historical themes, and themes of queerness, identity, autonomy, and temporality. Some of my favorite projects I’ve worked on include Pride Is Her Prejudice (a queer contemporary adaptation of the Austen classic) and My Own Worst Enemy (a queer punk-pop jukebox musical inspired by the founders of March For Our Lives, using the music of Paramore, My Chemical Romance, and more).

As an actor, most recently, I performed at the National Theatre of S. Korea in Seoul. This spring, I will be the lead facilitator for the Dracut Youth Theatre Circle at Harmony Hall, a pilot program for middle schoolers.

Aside from my theatre work, I am a substitute teacher for Dracut Public Schools at Richardson Middle School (your kids may know me as Mx. Emma!) and I host DJ Trivia at La Santa Mexican Restaurant on Thursdays at 7pm. I am also a member of the Dracut Community Chorus & an Advisory Board member for Milford Area Players.

I’m excited to support the work that is already being done here and to help build new social & cultural bridges in Dracut!

Kaye M. H. Crawford

they/them/theirs

As co-founder & lead writer of Rainbow Dracuteers, I’ve already introduced myself in bits and pieces across this website. But I have yet to introduce myself as an Advisory Board member alongside my cohorts, and so here I am once again! I’m Kaye—a nonbinary librarian, writer, & all-around nerd who calls Dracut their hometown. My bisexual heart was captured by Patrick while we were living in Ithaca, NY; we spent a decade living together in the gorgeous Finger Lakes region before returning to our New England roots with our beautiful cats Niko & Dinah in tow.

As someone who went through the Dracut Public School system, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to be young & queer in this town. After returning to Dracut in 2023, I was saddened to hear how the struggles of present-day youth aren’t much better than when I graduated DHS in 2010. I want to be proud of this town. I want it to live up to the warm, welcoming visage its longtime residents have conjured again and again in Dracut myth-making. There are so many wonderful people living here of which I'm already proud. I want to do everything in my power to make sure our queer, trans, gay, & multi-sexual residents find themselves supported & loved with dignity and respect. In 2026, I hope to help establish new connections with LGBTQ+ townies and create spaces of welcome, education, & celebration!

We are so happy to be here to help advise & steward Rainbow Dracuteers into an organization that can serve & support LGBTQIA2S+ Dracut residents with compassion, dignity, & respect.

We currently have a town-wide survey running for queer Dracut residents to complete so that we can learn what programs or services are desired and/or needed by the community:

Are you a Dracut resident & identify along the LGBTQIA2S+ spectrum? Take our community survey to help us better understand & serve the queer Dracuteer community. As thanks, survey-takers can opt-into a Rainbow Goodies Basket raffle for free! (More details at the end of the survey.)

All answers are anonymous.
Any optionally added emails to participate in the raffle are not shared & will not be stored post-raffle.

The survey will accept submissions

Thank you to everyone who has filled out the survey thus far, as well as for every Dracuteer who has shown us kindness & support~

With our 2026 Advisory Board set and some other exciting developments in the works, this year looks to be one where we live up to our Dumas-inherited motto: All for One & One for All!
