A short list of local resources for queer folks & allies in the Greater Lowell area~
Something that, I think, most everyone can agree on: it's friggin' tough out there, friends. Financially, emotionally, physically, socially—it's a difficult time, and has been for a while with little reprieve in sight. It's always good to remember that our communities are here to help us persevere. Resiliency is built on cooperation, kindness, and resolve.
We wanted to take a moment to highlight a variety of resources available to LGBTQ+ Dracut residents, allies, and our Greater Lowell neighbors that exist to help make our days just a bit brighter or a little easier. These resources revolve around access to healthcare, social support, community, and food security.
🟢 Front-Line Community Services

"Front Line Services provides community resilience-informed support for municipalities, communities, first responders and other community partners to aid them in their journey to bring healing and hope to their communities. This is accomplished through providing guidance, programmatic support, direct services, and more. Front Line uses a recovery focused framework to educate on mental health and substance misuse, advance mind-body health, raise awareness, and organize in the communities it serves and beyond.
Front Line places intentional thought into delivering equitable and culturally relevant programming as an LGBTQ+ business it places a focus on serving those who have historically been un- or under-served."

"The Center for Hope and Healing provides trauma and resilience-informed support and safe spaces for survivors to heal through its free and confidential counseling, legal and medical advocacy, and 24-hour crisis hotline. CHH uses a social justice framework to prevent sexual violence, advance equity, educate, raise awareness and organize in the communities it serves and beyond. CHH intentionally delivers anti-racist, innovative, culturally relevant programming designed for BIPOC, Black, Indigenous and other People of Color – survivors and communities which include immigrants, non-English speakers, Black girls, LGBQ/T – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Queer/Transgender people, youth, men, boys, and others who have historically been un- or under-served."

🔵 Lowell is Queer Community Calendar

"Lowell Is Queer is a community-driven resource that was made to highlight queer and queer-centered events within approximately 40 minutes of Lowell, centered in the Merrimack Valley region, but not limited to it. Our goal is to uplift gatherings accessible to our local community that may not otherwise receive broad promotion."
🔵 Dracut Public Library

"The Moses Greeley Parker Memorial Library strives to be a responsive, sustainable, innovative, and valuable resource to the residents of Dracut. The Library aspires to be the first organization our community turns to with questions or needs, even if it seems outside the traditional scope of libraries. We work to create strong community partnerships between the Library and other town departments, committees, and groups."
In addition to borrowing traditional library materials like books, CDs, and DVDs, be sure to checkout the Library of Things to browse the physical objects available to patrons; things like mobile hotspots, Nintendo Switches, sewing machines, a telescope, and more!
The Dracut library is a proud member of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium alongside the public libraries of Greater Lowell and the Massachusetts Merrimack Valley at large. All members of the consortium may utilize their library cards at all participating libraries.
🔵 McVagly LGBTQ+ Youth Group

"McVagly meets weekly on Mondays 6:30 – 8:30pm. We are a LGBTQ+ community youth group for high school and college aged youth 14 – 23 years old. Meetings to be held in the North Parish Labyrinth at 190 Academy Road, North Andover, MA 01845. If weather does not permit, meetings will be held inside the North Parish Chapel. 🔵 Lala Indie Bookstore & its hosted Book Clubs
"We are here for readers, those who have been reading for a lifetime, those still chewing on the corners of books, and everyone in between. We want to become your place to browse new titles, to meet friends, to explore ideas, to share stories."
Queer Book Club and its 21+ companion, Queer the Bar, are wonderful clubs dedicated to reading LGBTQ+ books across different genres. The nonfiction book club, Reading for Revolution, also covers a variety of topics that includes queer rights and identity. Be sure to checkout the other book clubs on offer, too!
🔵 Kestrel Archery
"Kestrel Archery is a team of people who are passionate about bringing archery to everyone. We are committed to coaching the sport while teaching personal responsibility, situational awareness, and mental flexibility."
The next Queer Archery Night will be Monday, October 19th, 2026, for those looking for a specific LGBTQ+ social evening. The organization remains welcoming to all during all hours, though!
🟡 Dracut Food Pantry
"The Dracut Community Food Pantry is a local 501c(3) organization that provides short and long-term assistance to Dracut residents. We are located at 1934 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA 01826 (suite 12). The pantry is operated by a Board of Directors who meet six times per year. The board and all the members volunteer their time.
Volunteers provide assistance to shoppers, collecting food from the local food bank and donation drop off points, sorting food donations, stocking shelves and helping clients by bringing their food items to their vehicles. The amount of food we offer is based upon the amount of food donations we collect from the community, food drives and additional food items that are purchased locally."
🟡 Open Pantry of Greater Lowell

"The Open Pantry provides food assistance to individuals and families in need, regardless of race, language, creed, religion or country of origin. The Open Pantry of Greater Lowell advances food security and dignity in our community by providing equitable access to nutritious food, linking people to supportive resources, and advocating for long term solutions to hunger."
🟡 End 68 Hours of Hunger

"End 68 Hours of Hunger is a public not-for-profit effort to confront the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some school children experience between the free lunch they receive at school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive at school on Monday morning. This weekend program, established in New Hampshire in 2011, puts nourishing food in the hands of school children to carry them through the weekend.
Our local programs are entirely volunteer-based. 100% of donations go to support ending food insecurity in your community. 95% goes directly to purchasing food and 5% goes to administrative costs such as insurance and state & federally-mandated requirements."
